MEET Dr. Morris

Dr. Amanda Morris grew up in Huntsville, Alabama with regular trips to Charleston for family vacations as her parents, Glenn and Carol, originally met and lived in Mt. Pleasant as newlyweds. She then moved to South Carolina to attend Wofford College where she played on their Division I soccer team.

During her time in college, she was selected to participate in an undergraduate research program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) through the dental school and subsequently moved to Charleston after college graduation to pursue her research full time in the Lowcountry. She then attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received her DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine). Next, she completed her 3-year Periodontics residency in San Antonio at the University of Texas Health Science Center where she received her Certificate in Periodontics and Master of Science degree. She was also selected as a finalist in the John F. Prichard Graduate Research Competition for her research on enamel proteins.

She is excited to be back in South Carolina and serve the community of Mt. Pleasant. Dr. Morris was announced as the 2021 national winner of the Dr. and Mrs. Gerald M. Kramer Scholar Award for Excellence and became board certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery by the American Academy of Periodontology.

Dr. Morris is an avid runner and enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling. She also has two rescue cats adopted from the Marion Square farmer's market.
